Sticking a Polestar Engineered sticker on a Polestar branded car didn’t make much sense anyway

 

Personal taste.

One thing I do know, however, Polestar has a “minimalist” philosophy. That’s reflected in this badge/sticker….and the car’s layout and design.

 

Looks even worse on void. I took mine off again about 10 minutes later!

 

You mind putting the badge in an envelope and sending it to Belgium?

I personally find the stickers look less jarring on lighter colored models (snow, magnesium). But it doesn’t look bad on yours OP…

 

I already have a full set of white teeth. I paid for the performance not the stickers.

 

I posted on the other thread. I'm probably going to leave mine off. If you look close, it's not a great print job. Pixellated font, looks like they churned them out at 150dpi on a cheap laser printer.

 

@Kie95 any chance you have a photo up close of the one you made?

 

Mine are going in the glovebox. Next owner can put them on if they want.

I guess it’s an opinion. And that is why Polestar shouldn’t have released this on the US market you can’t handle subtle understated scandi design 🤣😂

Guess what, you didn’t have to apply it, and you can take it off. But instead you choose to broadcast 🤷‍♂️

 

For me it's not about aesthetics. I love the idea and the look of it. And I was excited to put one on my car once I get the upgrade. But it's quality control. A pixellated sticker that looks like you bought it off ebay is not acceptable for any manufacturer. In fact, you may be able to find a knock-off that is actually a better quality print.

I hope they fix this before I get mine.

In my head, that logo was always light brushed aluminum with black debossed text (and should be). But a close up of the 2023 sticker is the same in the review video @6:39. Hi Kris, if you’re here, enjoy the reviews.

This sticker makes no sense. The "Polestar Engineered" badge has been used to indicate Polestar performance enhancement to certain Volvos. So now we get a sticker indicating that the Polestar has been engineered by Polestar. I knew that. It has no obvious connection to the current performance upgrade and looks cheap. Like a focus group reject from the original Volvo effort.
I have no problem at all with the door stickers which are fully in tune with the minimalist design style of Polestar. The grill sticker, on the other hand, looks awful (imho). They could have done so much better.

 

At least pre-covid there were places that made badges etc to spec, you could in theory have one made in brushed stainless, bit those are more cost effective if you do a group buy. We did that with a Mercedes Forum I used to actively admin a bunch of years ago.

 

Mine just came in the mail. I’m going to throw a digital caliper on it and see about maybe 3D printing something. Probably in white PET or ABS with small black in-laid PS logo.

OEM sticker goes on for now.

 

The OEM Polestar badge for Volvo's looks better... I wonder if it would fit on the front, or if it could be modified to fit?

That’s bush league for Polestar to print such poor quality badges. The one that came on my MY23 Performance looks fine, but I would love to see how a paint color match would look (Thunder for me), or black with white or gold lettering

 

Sticker does look like trash and im pretty disappointed and confused why I would put it on my car. If I was an outsider looking at my car, I would probably just assume the owner of the car was just some cheap bastard that bought or made a knockoff sticker and stuck it on the car because I could not afford the upgrade. it looks so cheap it just looks like a fake.

I will probably put it on my mom's Subaru as a joke.

 

Perhaps a pixellated sticker would not look out of place on the Ionic 5, but I would hope that the stickers for our Polestar 2's would at least match the print quality of the door stickers that most of us have already removed ;-).

 

I am curious to compare with the stickers that come with MY2023 vehicles. I should’ve looked closer at the ones I’ve seen around. Will do.
