I have gotten plenty of compliments and have been really happy with the tan/yellow combo and it smells great, but to each their own. Leather makes the cabin much more luxurious I think…but again, a matter of personal taste. It’s not inexpensive for sure. I have a Void (black) car so the tan works well with it…

Anyone here get/getting the extended warranty and prepaid maintenance? I’m still on the fence about it (been reading other threads). I’ve only made up my mind to go with the Appearance Package and GAP insurance.

I politely declined today. It’s not the price for me—I actually think the extra bits are worth it — rather, I’m not going to burn $10k just to get out of the lease on a perfectly nice ‘22 PP with leather and 8500 miles…

They need to target NEW buyers (or owners looking for a second one) because most current lessees or owners are not willing to take a bath on the deal (which they would). The offer is just not set up for the average owner of the current car, and I’m not sure how much it appeals to someone not already very familiar with the car. If it was reasonable to get out of a lease or resale values were better, I think they’d already be gone.

BTW, I was offered one in “Snow”, which I don’t really care for. I also think these should have had leather as standard or at least available…I don’t like the weave tech. Still, I would probably have taken it if it wasn’t for the huge negative equity issue. So, there is still one out there for someone. 😊
Would have done the same in your shoes.

Check to see if your auto policy can include gap insurance (some leases include it as well.). Way cheaper than a dealer program.

I have two buddies who work in auto dealerships and both have said maintenance packages on BEVs are unnecessary and a racket for the dealerships. They said you don't receive the value back compared to what you paid, so poor ROI for consumer. We made the mistake of purchasing the brake and wheel coverage for my wife's X5 plug-in hybrid because the F&I guy pushed it so hard. He said the X5 is a heavy SUV and will go through brakes quickly so the coverage is almost a necessity. After conferring with my two buddies, they both debunked that and said the vehicle will primarily brake with regen and not the physical brakes, so the physical brakes actually last longer in hybrids. We decided to cancel the service contract and have not regretted it one bit. Wife has 12k miles on X5 and last service showed her brakes wear still in the "excellent" tier.

I read through the terms on the extended and it looked like a lot of hassle with $100 copay for everything. GAP you should cancel once on the other side. I opted for the wheel and tire and would recommend for the BST since a big rock or pothole is probably going to damage.

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated. I was leaning towards just putting aside some funds for maintenance and warranty.

I also learned that the plans are not actually extending the already provided warranty and maintenance, but are in lieu of, which soured things for me.

Is the wheel and tire the same as the Appearance Package? Or is there a separate option for just wheels and tires? The main reason I’m opting for the AP is because it covers the tires and wheels, as I plan on getting PPF on the whole car.

Back to the updates: a new video was posted on Youtube in which several BSTs (and their predecessors?) are visible. I can't understand what he is saying. If anyone can translate/recap, that would be great! :D
Well they are at the ascari racetrack in andalusia in southern spain at least.
So we will probably get to see a lot of nice videos popping up in the near future of these getting driven.
Cant wait! 👍😄
But really wish they give us a experimental one day! That little extra width and spoilers makes it look SO GOOD!!

Thanks for linking the article! Echos what Anthony with Polestar shared from his short experience with the car. Review car was snow with the stripe, so very likely the car Anthony had. Surprised Ars Technica got first crack at it, and not a larger automotive magazine (unless the big boys did get it and just take longer to post their reviews).
