I believe that the car needed to be launched or substantially refreshed as a 2022 model. The PS2 launched as a 2021 and the 2022 changes weren’t enough to qualify as a refresh.

 

That makes sense - I even had to remind myself if there were a 2022 model 😂 I don’t need validation - I have the sexiest car on the block (until I get the Ioniq 6 N…but that’s a different conversation). I’m just generally perplexed when the P2 is left out of the conversation.

That's the most mainstream EV in the USA, could really open up EV to a much wider audience beyond just us nerds.

 

I seriously don't get the fuss over the ioniq 5, and I own one.

It's a good car, and overall I'd say I like it more than my previous model y, but it's infotainment is absolutely horrible and driving it isn't nearly as satisfying as driving the PS2. It is slightly more practical than the PS2, but unless I need a vehicle with a bigger back seat or more cargo capacity, I would reach for the "keys" to a PS2 10 Out of 10 times.

 

This is very interesting as my wife and I had the same dilemma when buying our first ev earlier this year. The I5 is more practical and was a bit less expensive but we really didn't need the extra room as it was just us two. Way less fun to drive which was a major reason that swayed us to the P2.

 

Here, the I5 had 5-10k markups while were comparing and test driving EVs which was the main reason we didn't really consider it. Good thing, since it turns out that it would not have fit into our garage

 

I just had a chance to flip through the EV Car of the Year issue, and while the PS2 isn’t a contender because it’s not a new model, the C40 Recharge is. And C&D savaged it. They claim it has a harsh ride yet unsettled and unstable handling. I’m curious if anyone has driven it in comparison to the PS2 and noticed if there’s a notable difference in handling?
