Having been on this forum a long time I’m pretty sure both sets of people exist.

There are definitely folks on the forum with Launch Edition vehicles who have not experienced (or at least have not noticed) rattles. And there are folks who have.

I think now the question is: Have any of the LE folks traded up to a newer model year, and had that vehicle for more than a year to verify the situation has improved? Not sure. I know @arijaycomet had a Launch Edition (ed: nevermind, he had a MY2022) and now has a newer one, but he isn’t known for keeping vehicles long enough that these rattles would’ve developed 😝
I have 2 LE's.
The nonPP one had the door seal squeak, solved by a one time coat of silicone lube on each seal; and had a rattle over bumps related to the front seatbelt attachments - mostly solved at the shop (who screwed up re-attaching the passenger B pillar trim; solved in 15 min during a pit stop there a week later). Now I very occasionally may hear that B pillar rattle but it's so occasional I don't know if it's my imagination to be honest!

The PP one had rattles from the rear Ohlins. Those were replaced and re-lubed. Since then has been rattle free - aside from the occasional thing I hear but can't reproduce so I just ignore.

Def seems like @julianm and @Benneboy got duds reflective of the early manufacturing times for these cars. Just judging by the number of folks complaining here and other internet spots, they definitely seem to have eliminated a number of QC issues as they've had more practice at it.

OP in your shoes I'd go for the trade-in especially if it's net zero/limited cost to you given all the warranty claims you're making!

I mean, would be great if true. The other theory is that we’re more sensitive to things a lot of other folks aren’t noticing.

I’m not quite at the point of being willing to lose my 0% APR to find out which is true. But if there were a somewhat-financially-reasonable trade I’d probably take it.

Sensible answer unlike some others here… I would also trade it in now, especially since you still get decent money for it. Polestar used prices did not crash as much as I thought in Sweden after Tesla price drops.

I think this will change with the MY24 introduction. Check with Riddermark bil or similar what they offer you for it.

Yeah I'm just a "troll" , my point with my post was to check if people have had the same experience as me.

Dear Mr Quavo Huncho,

If you simply wanted to find out whether others have, as you say, had the same experiences, you might have posted your video shorts, from the get-go. Ya know like: "Hey, I'm a newbie and can someone help me out...has anybody heard the same sound from their P2? Thx". But you didn't. You just went on a rant, that served no purpose.

Having visited your YouTube channel, I wasn't quite sure how the other videos on your channel tie into your Polestar issues? Especially the one from 3 days ago showing someone putting a car door ding on your Tesla Model 3? Bummer.

Nevertheless, and what I find most puzzling is - these issues (allegedly) have been ongoing for quite some time, per your comment in your first post (below)....yet, despite being a member on the Forum for 6 months, this is your first inquiry to see if others have had "similar experiences" ? I find that very odd....as instinctively, most of us would be on this Forum within days, if not weeks of having problems. But here you are.

"Volvo workshop themselves admitted that the drive shaft rattle is a known issue and that they need to change it.
They. told me this 1 year ago and still no response from them. Called Polestar in Gothenburg and they promised
to look this up! No response at all."

Finally, I also found your account that Polestar has repeatedly ignored you, very troubling. Since most repair shops are happy to do warranty work. What you describe would certainly qualify. I know when I have had an issue, I have never gone longer than 48 hours without a response, and a follow up visit, if needed within a week.

As I mentioned before - I strongly suggest that you sell your car and buy something other than a Polestar. I think you will be happier in the long run. Good luck.

The tesla video was for insurance claim , they told me to post it on youtube .Yeah i guess i agree that i went on fast with ranting out the car! I was to mad 2 days ago when i got the car back without any fix from the workshop so i created a account and just straight up ranted Polestar. My Tesla is not perfect either. I didnt choose to write on this forum until yesterday because i got tired of the workshop not fixing the issues after 4-5 attempts this month , noor the past year. I gave them manu chanses…

If you buy another p2 you aren't allowed to complain about it 😂😂
If it weren’t for these forums I’d have thought I was completely alone with all my rattles. Instead, I have a couple different categories and specific issues that I know other owners have gotten resolved in specific ways. Eg the B-pillar rattle, or the performance shocks, or the side windows, or whatever’s going on with the rear axle / wheel mounts.

None of that info came from Polestar CS, or even my service center — it was all thanks to people being willing to complain here and pooling our knowledge.

I have a MY2023 LRDM without the PP (Performance or Plus packs) or PU that I picked up in Sep 2022. I had a weird rattle or like something was rolling around in the B pillar of the passenger side when I accelerated hard from day 1. It would only happen when I accelerated hard so I ignored it till I got more rattles and what not. Now I have a booking to check some other squeaks and rattles in the car.

1. The door seals have started squeaking now, but I believe this is from the car wash place and whatever they use to lube/clean the seals because this also happened on my old ICE.
2. One of the windows has started rattling. I am not sure which window it is and it only seems to happen when it is warmer.
3. I do hear the suspension squeak when I am going over something that has a lip like a driveway and turning.
4. The drivers seat has started to squeak too. Not from the rails or anything but from the seat back cushion.

While these have shown up in a year of owning the car, I am still quite happy with the car. I am sure my previous ICE also had some of those rattles which you could not hear them over the engine noise. I do sympathise with the OP and if I had all those rattles and issues then I would be completely turned off the brand and never get a Polestar again. Kudos to you to still be thinking about staying with the brand.

In fairness, I also had the driveshaft “rattle”. Sounded like a pinwheel (think wheel of fortune). Fortunately I did get it repaired under warranty. Must say though, my other gripes have been minor and I do love the car.

I do think an inordinate number of my rattles are from the side windows, and that Polestar very last-minute changed out the side window glass for something thinner than originally designed for.
For me, it’s centre dash, boot trim and b pillars, I can apply pressure to each and remove the rattle, but it’s also too much hassle to bother fixing, cars have always rattled for me, it’s part of the character.

I'm the latter. My car sounds like a bag of spanners and has been in to the dealer five times for attempted fixes. I've given up now on trying to get it sorted. In fact, on two occasions, it came back worse than it went in!

It's the most poorly put together interior of any car I've ever owned, including old second hand junk when I first started driving.

My single biggest disappointment with an otherwise great car.

The variation is strange.. . I've got a very early LE and has not experienced any rattles in the interior. No issues except for some intermittent suspension noise in front on harsh winter roads. Very happy with the car!

Yep. I must have got a 'Friday' car. My VIN is 30xx - what's yours?

The experience with the dealer was so frustrating though. There's a roundabout right outside the dealership that triggers -all- the rattles. All you've got to do is drive round that and you can hear them. We're talking 200M away.

Yet every time they'd give me the car back saying it's fixed and I'd hear the rattles within 30 seconds of leaving. It is as if they are all deaf.

Mine is 8XX

Ahh @julianm you know me well

For what it is worth, my non-LE 2022 was only around for a few thousand miles. It had a dash "squeak" that was minimal but I could never pinpoint it, so I never took it in for that. That was present from the get-go but not enough to make me hate the vehicle. Enough so that here I am back again with my 2023, as you noted.

FWIW, the only "rattle/squeak/etc" on my '23 is in my steering column, and I think is most likely related to having had my steering wheel & airbag removed. I swapped out the glossy black steering controls for Volvo OE matte ones. And again, this noise is not there often enough and very faint, and does not bother me.

I'm quite happy with my Polestar 2, well, both of them were/are good cars TBH. Perfect, no. But better than most other cars. The only other EVs that I've owned that were better build quality are the BMW i4/iX that I owned, or the Audi eTron Gt/Porsche Taycan. All others were on parity with the Polestar, or worse. :)
