(NOTE: The original thread on this topic veered into other discussions. For those interested in discussing Software Update 1.4.12, just trying to help with a clean thread).

The update was announced on Oct 7 and released to workshops first. As of Oct 10, no one has yet reported OTA availability.

Updates in Software Version P1.4.12

  • Fix for seat position so that it is now correctly connected to the selected driver profile.
  • Solution for performance issues related to third-party HD video streaming apps.
  • Audio and Abbey Road Studios Mode settings are fixed to avoid issues with missing content, such as missing back button in the center display.
  • The pop-up message for OTA Software updates now remains visible for a longer duration when a new update is available.
  • Stability of internet connectivity has been improved, along with enhancements to how the vehicle manages temporary connection loss.
  • GPS reliability has been improved to help prevent signal loss and drifting on the map.
  • Improvements to digital key unlocking functionality when approaching the vehicle.
  • HD radio improvements.
  • Apple CarPlay connectivity improved to more reliably reconnect during the next driving cycle. Previously, Apple CarPlay would not always reconnect as expected.

I had service scheduled for 10/7 here in Seattle for a weird noise issue in the cabin (which turned out to be a defective environmental sensor fan making a whining noise), and also the 'FM' radio not producing any sound (even though other music apps work). As part of the service they installed 1.4.12 which did in fact fix my radio/no sound issue. My iPhone still does not automatically connect, so I may need to try removing the phone from the car setup and then readding to see if that helps. I will also test out the seat memory/profile fix when I have chance.

@searob Thanks for confirming seat and mirror position are now saved when switching profiles.

Does anyone know the full list of preferences that are "supposed to" be saved between profiles? The description in the P3 manual is, "There are many profile-specific settings that are applied automatically when you select your profile." Curious about what the "many" are?

So I've done a bit of KMs with 1.4.12 now and at first I was happy but unfortunately the same errors I used to have are back. Carplay connects when it wants to (which is about half the times) but most annoying is that the car does not open on approach with PAK. When I open it manually in my iPhone wallet, take a seat and put it in drive it does not find my key so I have to put my phone on the charger to connect. That happens like 75% of the times. The 25% of love left it just does what it's supposed to do.

Mind you I've had it for 13months now and these are about the only bugs left (plus the list of stuff everyone of us is missng) so a lot is solved with the various updates. Car's more stable.

Regarding the PAK functionality, if when you approach and it doesn't deploy the handles, have you tried manually lifting the driver's handle? For some that "wakes up" the UWB receiver in the car and unlocks everything and allows you to use the car as normal.

That said, there also seems to be some kind of issue with iPhones when it comes to UWB. If you Google around, you'll find lots of iPhone specific UWB issues regardless of which car it's paired with. I've seen far fewer reported general UWB issues with Samsung or Pixel models.
