How do you possibly have time to do all this or know how. I feel fortunate that when I get in, sit down and the cars goes without a problem.
Its a company lease car. Accidents without supporting camera footage mean I pay the ÂŁ500 excess, so I get into the habit of doing that.

Speed warning - the beeps do annoy and its made worse by its inaccuracy. Think i would leave it on if it worked like my old Volvo (ie worked well not 10% of the time).

Lane assistant- likewise its a wide car and when im avoiding potholes I instead get constant vibrations on some roads, and so switch off on start.

Driver attention- i have 2 long slow bends out of my estate with poor junctions. The steering wheel blocks camera view and shows im not paying attention. Dont want to have the caf history showing 'i wasn't paying attention' if there is an incident here (again company car reports). Worst thing is you need to be in drive to switch this off).

Then spotify - id use the USB app as preference but that is a seriously useless app, and Bluetooth is ok but its hands / eyes off the wheel. (Maybe to issue is lack of integration and functionality from steering wheel for any of the audio apps.

So many other cars have
Car camera apps that work.
Single configurable buttons to automate several actions.
Better audio integration.
Hence Im stuck with what we have got.

Oh yes and I didn't mention the merry dance with the will it or won't it see the key and let me in...

For the past 12 years I've been working with EV electrification design and development specifications, use cases etc (including going to Geely factory twice). Recently working on motorsport electronics on WEC, Porsche cup, World Rally.

What i dont like is that the car COULD be so great, but they have not thought about so many things, and thus implementing the key UI features so badly.

I make up the time by driving my car like I've stolen it....or going through a set of lights on amber.. or not slowing down for horses.
In addition, using GA for navigation/media etc can be less time consuming.

So far the only one I have found I need is the speed one - and it's a single press on the steering wheel. As others have said I'd happily leave this on if it worked as well as it did in my last 2 cars (space / Model Y) but its wrong too often.

CarPlay - sometimes auto-connects, and sometimes doesn't. If not, that is a few annoying presses especially if I am listening to live sport and want to transition to car to continue (Radio 5 Live issue makes this worse).

Not looked at the camera yet - so that might be something but then I never needed sentry mode on the Tesla in the 3 years we had it.

Re: Mirrors. Doesn't the car automatically do this based on temperature IF you have a pre-condition option set up? Weather hasn't needed it so far but this would be mildly annoying - can this be one of the 'short cuts on the screen'?

When it's really cold, they do come on automatically, but that doesn't help for the rest of the time when there's just condensation on them.

That said, it's only ever a maximum of two presses away (one press on climate, then the button is there).
