Hmm. Seems the 3 is glitch central with the main one being dodgy GHCAs.

It does sound like the GHCA thing is now fixed with a new part - number 36012239 .

Dealerships seem clueless on whether these can be fitted to cars pre-emtively but if they were 100% being fitted to all that were breaking, I could probably live with that.

I had also thought that the other software glitches would be ironed out but seeing how volvo is replacing central computers with the EX90, methinks probably the same issue with the 3 and not sure if that is planned by Polestar.

Am in no mad panic to get one - but want to know from others if I should pull the trigger with the understanding that there will be trouble ahead but fully resolved within months. Reading threads - am thinking I am being way too glass half full on this.

That was the boat I was in - really wanted NACS-native, 800v, and the new processor (and all the other features are enticing as well). However, I finally gave up and went for the discount + I wasn't sure how long I would have to wait - at least a couple seasons. I'm currently happy with the decision, but we'll see how I feel when the MY26s are rolling around locally and are superior in every way.

I'm also expecting that with the 26s being out and the new Orin upgrade for the 25s, that the pace of software releases should hasten.

Honestly, it's entirely dependent on your tolerance for minor inconveniences.

I was an early adopter, although not one of the earliest earliest. The original software was buggy and had random issues that would impact drivability and overall stability of the infotainment. However, since 1.13.18, things have pretty much just worked.

The one exception being the OBC/GHCA, which failed on me a few weeks back. Luckily, my service team was willing to go to bat for me and didn't make me drive out to have them diagnose something that we all already agreed was the problem. They ordered the part and it's currently waiting for me to bring the car in when they have loaners since I have a few other minor things I want them to look at while the car is there. In the meantime, I'm fortunate enough to have DC chargers near enough to places I frequent that I am able to use those for charging for now and I got it in writing from Polestar support that they would reimburse all my DC charging costs until the OBC/GHCA is replaced.

So while all these issues are minor annoyances because of my circumstances, it is all overshadowed by the fantastic driving experience. No other vehicle in this class drives as well and the many upgraded features, including the incredible B&W sound system just make trips feel effortless and fun.

You just have to weigh what matters to you and see if it fits your lifestyle. I certainly wouldn't write it off because of the issues reported on an internet forum. I do agree that you should probably wait to grab a 2026 with the 800V architecture.

The new GHCA was installed in my PS3, and it has worked well for two weeks. However, the service director at the dealership told me that the bugs will continue until the main chip is replaced, probably sometime in 2026. Volvos are given priority. Frankly, I regret that I leased the PS3. There are many other options that are less prone to all of these bugs, and are lower cost. When my lease is over i’ll say goodby to Polestar forever. They don’t seem to care about the customer. All cars have some problems but to actually deliver a brand new car that failed the next day after delivery is fraudulent in my opinion. They knew it was going to fail, but they delivered it. Greed is a justification for everything!

I've had mine for 1 month. There have been some little niggles with the occassional glitch - sometimes my phone isn't detected as i walk up to unlock it. Or sometimes my audio doesn't come out of the car speakers whilst on a Teams call. But these are very minor for me, slightly annoying, but not stopping me from using the car. I guess another question is what would be your alternatives? Would they be any better?
