Toronto, Canada. App previously had no information for delivery, now it says September for an order placed Feb 2023, non performance, leather seats.

Was at the space last month and they had mentioned April-May, so this September estimate is a bit concerning.

A new build on the site says delivery starting Summer 2024, so hopefully the order estimate is just a placeholder and it arrives sooner.
I am also Toronto Canada ordered in Oct 2022 with build date 2nd quarter 2024 then a month ago it became delivery date unknown and today after reading your post I also see September 2024 on my order. We must be getting delayed due we will now be receiving our car from SC instead of China.

I ordered Dec 22 and the app says Sept, however in Sweden there are cars showing up as in stock with delivery early August. But those cars are not matching my spec, I assume they have a fixed build plan for colours and options and I have a Snow on order which I assume many have on order…but I would assume if somebody cancel with the same config you will move up the list

Someone on reddit got an email that their P3 just rolled off the production line and is getting prepped for transport. He's in Toronto Canada and ordered a dual motor launch edition in Midnight Blue. He ordered it in October 2022.
It seems some countries are just getting them earlier even if you ordered it on the same day.
I see a launch edition w/performance, with an estimated delivery date of July coming to my space. My exact same configuration but with Jupiter interior instead of sync. I may just cancel my current config and just go with that if it means I can get it sooner. My original delivery window of September does not work for me. I need a vehicle in July at the latest.

I'd try to get in touch with the Space or Polestar directly to figure out if September is really it. I don't understand why random configurations are showing up for delivery faster than some people who ordered at the beginning. These orders must be fulfilled around the same time, that's only logical. There may be some explanation as to why that won't be, and in that case you may be better of changing to the preconfigured one. But I don't see any reason currently as to why your order would come later than preconfigured inventory.

This is probably part of the shift to a wholesale dealer based model.

in the US, preorders mean absolutely nothing

Well, after talking to my Space rep, he's going to reach out to the sales department to see if my current configuration can be matched to a pre-configured one for an earlier delivery date. Let's see what they have to say.
Hopefully that can be done and I don't have to put in another deposit for a new order. I don't mind doing that if it means I get it sooner but I'd rather not.

Sigh... it's so strange. But yeah you may be right. No wonder Polestar is having a tough time figuring out the American market as a newcomer, even with some support from Volvo.
There’s thousands of experienced people who can help with that, I’m sure there’s more than a few that‘d be happy to help.

My Space sent me the following on regards to the MY24-25 question that's been discussed here.

“Due to the adjusted timeline for first Handovers, all Polestar 3 will be produced as MY25 vehicles (displayed on the Monroney label) - including the Launch editions! This is great news for deposit holders, as they’ll receive a vehicle that is a model year newer than anticipated.”
“After production of the Launch editions has completed, production will begin for the vehicles with the expanded MY25 offer structure”.

I had to google this one:

Only three countries in the world use the imperial system as their official system of measurement: the U.S., Liberia and Myanmar.

Do you know whether your Space meant All worldwide P3s being MY25 or just the US P3s?

Still not clear for me what the difference is between the model 2024 and model 2025 other than marketing
According to my space there's no difference. I believe that some cars just had MY24 attached to them because they were at some point scheduled to be built then.

It makes zero sense why there would be any hardware difference between MYs when PS3s are just barely coming of the factory line. Something should have gone terribly wrong for Polestar to make changes to the components months before delivery.

Plus the word of mouth from customers and press would really hurt Polestar short and long term if some customers were getting a better vehicle than others.

Exactly my thought!

I asked on the Official Facebook Community, here is what I got:

I'm interested in the functions of the B&W system for ANC of road noise as well as the amplification of voices from the back seat. I'm also interested in whether there are any differences in functionality between the Launch edition and MY25.
Polestar replied:
An interesting feature to dive into for sure Christoffer! For the MY25 models, it will cancel out the frequencies of the obtrusive wind, tyre and road noise. In terms of function comparison on the launch edition and MY25, the road noise cancelation system by Bowers & Wilkins adds dynamic microphones and extra hardware in each wheel well, so this is a feature that can't be retrofitted. We hope to get into your questions with more detail on the day of the event, so be sure to join.
I will attend the online event for the Polestar 3 that will be held on April 16 to get more answers.

Seems left hand doesn’t know what right hand is doing. My car is not built and won’t be here to September now, (another delay). How on earth is there a hardware change between now and September that I don’t get.

I really should have ordered the Taycan CT or ST.

Launch of the 4 went much smoother than the 3. In part because of Volvo causing the delays. And then because they felt pressured by shareholders to quickly increase margins, they had to add more availability for options packages (what really makes money) so they had to implement new packages and options for the shareholders this close to the production of original pre-order cars. Little messy and complicated with so many actors involved and needing to get their say through (Volvo, Geely, shareholders, customers, overall market etc).
