Haha what if I have a buddy who has Costco. Can he be a pal and come with me. 🤣

I helped a friend get a Toyota with Costco pricing through my membership before
Really? I have multiple close friends with it. Did you just have to come to the dealership with them?

Maybe I’m insane. But that’s ends up being an excellent lease price. My wife and I were considering just sticking with 1 car when we swap my flex lease P2 in for the P4 in the fall.

However, say if I were to get a really aggressive deal for a second P2, would a two Polestar garage be crazy?
We have his and hers P2’s in ours. Lease deals in the ‘24s were so good we decided to add the second one to our garage. And that was before the Costco incentive.

I went with her and brought the certificate with me - that deal didn’t have a rebate attached. Also with the rebate, not sure if I would have to be on the deal.

So much for competing with Porsche…. …. Can you imagine Porsche selling cars through Costco?
Audi does, so does BMW, Cadillac, etc… CostCo has a surprisingly high income average customer…

At least in the UK they don't really sell cars - It's basically a referral program and they put you in touch with dealers, costco buyers just did all the negotiation for the discount.

Sometimes the discounts are quite good, eg £8k (~$10k) off an ID.Buzz - not sure if one could get that if they just walked into Citygate (which is the dealer selling these).

Interesting. Here is what it says at Polestar:

"²To qualify for the Polestar Limited-Time Special, you must: (1) be a current Costco member on or before April 30, 2024; (2) register with Costco Auto Program online or through its call center by May 31, 2024 to receive a certificate with your unique promotion code; (3) present your certificate and unique promotion code to any Polestar dealer at time of visit; (4) place order between May 1, 2024 and May 31, 2024 of an eligible Polestar 2 model to receive a $2,000 Costco member-only incentive."

However, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Polestar simply extends this offer (updates their fine-print) month by month to match Costco's extension through July. After all - that is the end of the quarter.. ;-)

Same way it works here, basically…

Of course, I get that, I shop there myself. I just cannot imagine ”buying“ a car there that is all. More so, imagine a Porsche customer rushing grabbing one of those discounts at Costco and rushing to a Porsche dealer while saying “Hey, I was picking up 24 rolls for my bathroom at a local Costco and now I want a discount on my Macan!” …. but who knows maybe they would, if they could.

Btw, it was not me who came up with this idea that Polestar must compete with Porsche…. 😃

Correct. Costco does not sell cars.

Really wish they did, though.
Why? What great could come out of it, a bulk seller offering cars for sale. Maybe you folks in US hate the Polestar Space system so much, that you would prefer Costco selling cars? I think it must be really bad down there….

LOL....We have had the same discussion: P2 now & then add P3 or P4 when then are here....
And YES, I did buy the membership to get my POLESTAR2 bonus.

The dealer model in the US is broken. Dealers use and abuse customers. And sales staff are poorly trained and poorly compensated. Dealer owners are only interested in preserving their status quo, they’re against innovation, stifling it.
