My TCAM died this morning and they want to tow it 500 miles from Salt Lake City to Denver at no cost and they say they would provide a rental car. I'm tempted to let them do it even though I could do the reset. What would you guys do?

I have had TCAM problems before that were solved by a regular defrost button reset. I've had my car for a little over 6 months. Today it is completely dead and I get the "eCall service required message". Keys don't work, GPS doesn't work, network is obviously down, etc.. I can't believe it has to travel 500 miles for such a stupid little problem.

Thanks for the response and sorry for posting this in two places. I was looking for quick advice. I'll try the fix myself, but I do want to apply some pressure to them like JRRF said. I hate the idea of having it towed 1000 miles so they can disconnect/charge the TCAM battery!

I pulled Fuse 26 and Fuse 27, left them out for about 5 minutes, and put them back in. A few minutes later, my TCAM came online and everything is working fine. I also pulled the carpet in the rear just to see that I could get to the backup battery (BUP). Fingers crossed that it stays good for another 6 months!

The Polestar service center in Denver called me and were very friendly. They said that if I have it towed to Denver, they would do the TCAM reset by pulling power and maybe the BUP, but they would also do a TCAM factory reset through VIDA which isn't something I can't do. They didn't convince me that it is worth the tow, but I'm happy to know they will tow the car and provide a rental at no charge even though I'm 500 miles away.

It definitely isn't clear that they would provide a P2 loaner. I would be super surprised if they could do that in Salt Lake City 500 miles from the nearest space. They said they would try to provide a P2 loaner, but a premium rental would be the next option. I don't know what a premium rental is.
