I got the Slate and while not a "very light gray", is sufficiently lighter than the rest of the interior that IMO it's not too dark and certainly lightens up the whole interior over the charcoal.
Still not light enough for me and not enough contrast from the different surfaces. Just feels like I'm inside a dark rain cloud. But, like I said, that's just me.

Maybe, but both of the cars I've been in had the panoramic roof. Even in that case a light headliner wood help.
I have the panoramic roof and there is still a lot of black headliner around the edges and between the windshield and rear hatch. The roof is not as light and airy feeling as my previous Model 3 which had a light colored trim around the roof and on the pillars.

The Tesla has that cab forward look from the Chrysler cab forward cars from the 90s intrepid/Concorde/vision so the driver experienced the glass roof differently. In our cars the pano roof is really for the back seat more than the front seat

I actually found the leather seats a little less supportive and too slippery.
Ended up picking WeaveTech even though I like ventilated seats.
Test drive both the single and dual motor cars. The dual motor felt so planted that it was an easy decision.
I totally agree. I drove practically all combinations (SM vs. DM, 3 types of seats) and ended up with DM with weavetech. I felt like I was sitting “on top” of the leather seats and more “in” the weavetech ones.
Ventilated weavetech would have been the best option for me, if those were available.

Regarding DM: this is what I’ve been pondering about the longest during the buying process. The SM is definitely powerful enough for most people and situations. But man… that sheer power of the DM kept seducing me!

I think they could’ve done better than the weavetech. Though durable, it feels cheap. More than a handful of YouTubers also mention this. It’s described as the feel of a wetsuit. Not the kind of feeling I want in a $65k car. Also the 2 offerings (charcoal and gray) are too dark in my opinion, as others on here have mentioned.

If modern and vegan is what they were going for, I think vinyl (or pleather ) would’ve been better. My wife has the white vinyl seats in her model Y, and I think it looks clean and modern. Very durable, and pretty stain resistant as well. I cleaned them with a damp cloth last week and was able to get them pretty clean.

The Napa seats are more than just leather. They offer a brighter interior and ventilated seats. This easily adds more comfort than AWD. Ideally get both but for me I would pick the Napa seats if I had to pick between them. If you travel with pets it makes sense to get the cheap seats instead.

Great question OP… I’ve owned my launch edition for almost 9 months now and I still get in to my partners 2019 X3 and think wow this is so lush in here compared to my P2… but I would choose the dual motor every time, nothing beats the feeling and the grin on my face when I floor the pedal. Everyone will have different priorities but for me the power wins. I’m still not sold on the weave tech but we have to move on from leather

I may be in the minority but I love my weavetech seats. They’re very easy to clean (with a 60 lb dog riding with me at least weekly). They also are very comfortable and I like the look (although the stigma is yes leather is more premium).
I’m in Texas and haven’t had any issues yet but I’ve only had the car for the winter. We’ll see if the sweat issues I’ve heard about happen.
I had to bring my PS2 into service because of a window rattle and loss of internet. They gave me a courtesy car to use. It had the Pilot package with the leather seats and woodgrain. I never liked the gold seatbelts, so was again not happy, although as a loaner, no big deal. The car had only 500 miles on it, so maybe the seats need to become worn in, but, I really had a great deal of difficulty getting it to configure into a position of comfort. I was very happy to get back into my woven seat. I do feel good that no animal had to die so I could sit on it.

If you had an option choice which option would you include if you had to make a choice as both options cost the same: AWD or Nappa Ventilated seats?
Weavetech does very well. I had leather in my previous Volvo and did like it but my wife not because leather gets easily slippery. I thus did go for weavetech and, honestly, it appears having real advantages. Easy to clean, not slippery and the contact with your naked legs, when you drive in shorts in summertime is more comfortable than with leather.
I have 4WD and would certainly not give up this option that I feel as a security (but also fun) feature.
By the way, I opted for magnesium and my black/grey seats match very well.

While I agree leather is more premium (which is why one pays a premium to have it), I have yet to have a single person enter my weavetech seat car, and say “nice car, to bad you don’t have premium seat covering”.
Also, everyone has personal preference for colour, but I had a Napa leather PS2 as a loaner and the cream leather just doesn’t look as nice IMO. Negative reaction from my family on the Napa too. So I feel I’ve made the right decision. With the tech.
