So have they published any TSBs on this? They should be listed on anyone's repair order.
I posted a scan of mine. There's a number for what I think is their dealer->factory tech support ticket system in there, but nothing about a TSB.

My car seemed to be the first instance of this that Volvo Cars of Austin had seen, but my friend in San Diego told me he'd seen this a few times, and the mothership is aware that it's a thing.

Yea it should be soon

Just picked mine up yesterday. Same as @MR2Aaron, wheel hubs and axles were replaced. They told me the axles I got last year were already the updated ones. Originally, Polestar suggested to remove both rear axles, clean axle splines and reinstall. But that didn't work. Hopefully I won't be back again next year for this issue.

This also was the first time I had to replace brake pads.

Just had my first service where the thumping noise was adressed. When I booked it in a while ago I mentioned it, and did it again when delivered the car just now.
Dealer said they were aware of it, and said the brake pads are the culprit. When challenging them because the car doesn’t often use the brakes, and the sound is ALWAYS there, they said they’ll do a test drive.
They did replaced the rear brake pads, but the sound is still there when I drove back home (can’t say I’m surprised).
Now have to go through the process of rebooking and going back to the dealer just because they didn’t do proper troubleshooting and just assuming they know it all. :(

But that is the standard procedure. First replace the pads (or the pads and the rotors) and if that does not help (and it never does for this complaint) replace the drive shafts. Went through the exact same (in Belgium).

Also wondering if the replaced axle is a new revision or they just put in the exact same part.
There is new version for the right driveshaft (pictures are somewhere in this thread, or another thread on the same subject).,

I have now experienced something strange.

The "wheel of fortune" noise is really extreme on my Polestar, evrebody can hear it easily. I also have an appointment at the garage in May to change the rear drive shafts.
Now I have changed 2 days ago from winter tires to summer tires with spacers (15mm). The noise has disappeared - I have absolutely no idea how that could be explained.

Did you check your winter wheels for scrapes (or crud buildup) on the inside?

There are two "wheel of fortune" noises.

One is related to the driveaxles. The other is made by the wheel/brake rotor interface. The fix for the wheel/rotor one is to remove the wheel, clean the mating surface, apply a little bit of anti-seize, and reinstally, torquing the bolts properly.

Sounds like your noise was the latter and you unwittingly did the fix.

You should get rid of the spacers and get proper wheels, though.

Never heard about the second one....noise was already present with summer wheels but w/o spacers and shorter bolts. Surface was always clean and free of rust, bolts are fixed with 140Nm, tightened crosswise.
So I can't imagine this error, but anything is possible.

No scrapes, nothing, absolutly perfect.

Quoting myself (below) where I talked about this previously.

Following up on my front-right clicking noise, it turned out to be related to the wheel mounting against the rotor. There's a Polestar (or Volvo?) tech journal bulletin (TJ-36483) about this, but apparently, the front wheels need a thin layer of grease applied to the rotor where the wheel mates up to it. There's a special sauce grease that the bulletin prescribes, but Permatex anti-seize works too.

After talking to my friend at the Polestar service center in San Diego, I chose to DIY this, so I removed the front wheels, smeared a thin layer of anti-seize grease on the mating surface, and reinstalled the wheel, being careful to torque it to spec. Noise is gone now.

Oddly enough, the wheel bolts felt pretty loose when I initially removed them, and I don't think they'd been off since the car was new, so I wonder if maybe the real problem is really that the factory isn't getting them quite tight enough. Anyway, bottom line is that the front noise is totally unrelated to the rear. Edit: At least, it is in this particular case.

That’s ok, I don’t have better ways to spend my time anyway :)
Re-booked it in, we’ll see…

My car was in the shop on Monday because of the Wheel of Fortune noise. New drive shafts were ordered in advance.

When the shafts are to be installed, the technician found that the associated gear teeth on the gearbox are worn out.
After consultation with Polestar, a complete rear engine has now been ordered. Differential, gearbox and engine are a common spare part. It costs ~$8500, thank goodness it is a warranty case.

On phone I asked the service guy about the chicken and egg problem: did the defective mount on the engine destroy the driveshafts or was it the other way around. His answer was very evasive, apparently they don't know.

Friday I can pick up the car again - I'm very curious if the problem is solved and how the new engine feels.

Where are you located, and did they give you a loaner?
