I thought there was some HOV.In Virginia we get nothing.
It is not really a case of wanting another tax, it is a case of ensuring that the tax paid is used sensibly. And giving rebates on luxury goods for rich people is even by my love of a low tax society and small government not really the best use. Please sir may I have another tax?
You have to pay more for the clean fuel plates and then it only exempts you from HOV on some highways (none of the major ones in the DC area and does not include the express lanes), so not really worth it.I thought there was some HOV.
Thanks for the clarification. The Destination Charge does not count, so you can get the Single with Pilot or the Dual with zero options.
In my opinion, a vehicle north of $50,000 should not qualify for any subsidy so this was a good move.
- The purchase price cap of $50,000 refers to the final purchase price of the vehicle, which is set by the manufacturer, and is intended to encompass the value of the vehicle itself, in full. The purchase price includes the costs associated with the trim level of the vehicle with all color options, wheel upgrades, drive train or battery upgrades, and other packages, such as entertainment system upgrades and tow hitches. Costs not included in the purchase price are destination or delivery charges, sales and use taxes, additional maintenance or repair packages purchased from the dealership or showroom, documentation fees, registration fees, or add-ons which relate to the maintenance or operation of the vehicle, such as electric vehicle charging packages, floor mats, first aid kits, cargo nets, etc.
My MA resident son bought a black base dual motor to qualify. $49900. So for his first new car ever, he owns a frikking dual motor Polestar for $40k after the state and federal credits! 😯The $2500 might convince me to buy. I was considering a dual motor without options but didn't put down a deposit because Polestar couldn't get organized enough to apply for the rebate. Void isn't my first choice but I'm not sure I'd pay $3700 ($1200 + state losing state incentives) to get a different color.
On the other hand if there weren't any incentives I'd be more likely to pick one pack and pay up for a color.
Was he able to see the base interior? How was it? Was the stereo acceptable compared to yours? Also, any chance you know what fees the Boston Space charged him? Thanks! My MA resident son bought a black base dual motor to qualify. $49900. So for his first new car ever, he owns a frikking dual motor Polestar for $40k after the state and federal credits! 😯
That’s IF Boston Polestar can get their act together and put together a package for the state to approve. 😡

Thanks for the feedback and good luck with the rebate. I'm not sure enough about the car yet (and I don't really need to replace my current car) to be willing to take delivery before the rebate is approved. It seems like this will be a non-issue once the 2023 models are released since any price increase will push this configuration above 50k.Hey!
Base interior is just fine. Only issue I have is the mechanical back rest adjuster which is a real hassle if you are trying to adjust further than a few centimeters.
Haven’t heard the premium stereo, but I tend to play my music pretty loud without a hitch.
I actually purchased mine from Polestar Westport. It was the only base model in the US at the time that was under the 50K threshold. All fees (besides destination) we’re about $800. Im sure you could negotiate that number down a bit but I wasn’t too worried about it. 0% APR with $0 down. Very smooth process overall. They’re taking care of transferring my plates over to new vehicle as well.
Also worth noting, MOR-EV representatives told me as long as they add the P*2 to the list of eligible vehicles in your 90 day window you have to apply after purchasing, it should be approved. So that is what I will be (hopefully) doing.
But you won't have sales tax on cars. no reason to com[lain. I understand that even ICE cars get the sales tax waived and other EV's have incentives but at least you got something. In Oregon we pay an additional “privilege fee” on new cars! Plus no polestar state EV incentives 🤡
Not really. Third highest property taxes and income taxes. Thanks tho.But you won't have sales tax on cars. no reason to com[lain. I understand that even ICE cars get the sales tax waived and other EV's have incentives but at least you got something.
And what exactly that has to do with EV incentives, living in the state is your choice. Not really. Third highest property taxes and income taxes. Thanks tho.
the Reflection point for EVs. It is now cheaper. Just be prepared for some future tax and loss of HOV lanes. Enjoy it while we can.Reading about other states, I feel fortunate I bought my Snow colored dual motor with pilot and plus packs when I did. One California incentive knocked $1500 off the purchase price. Another CA incentive program just sent me a $2000 check in the mail for buying a fully electric car. The Feds are knocking $7500 off my tax bill this year . I just got my HOV stickers in the mail and they work on all HOV and many Fastrack lanes. There are Electrify America rapid chargers in 3 places on my daily 64 mile (each way) commute, which are currently saving me $400 per month in fuel costs over my previous ICE vehicle (for the next 2 years of free charging anyway). Keep in mind gas is coming up on $5 per gallon in the bay area. I financed for 0% APR over 60 months. All of these incentives were big reasons I jumped on the car when I did.
Without these perks, it would have likely slowed my adaption of a 60k EV.
