So the 4 is 6 inches wider (15CM) than the 2... This won't properly fit in my garage, its tight as it is if I dont get close enough to the wall.

Too bad man i really wanted to like this and i love the looks and the tech and stuff but damn.

Something tells me the 3.8 0-60 is also going to fudge upwards since it says 'preliminary' - this thing is going to be heavy, heavy heavy. But hey, Range sells.
Nope I forgot to count the mirrors! Will update the measurements shortly sorry, busy day!

They left the outline where the glass would be, and where it is on the Zeekr. I'm sure they'll market that as a design choice purely for aesthetic, but I'd wager the real reason is to save money on panel tooling so that they can revert to having a window if and when they need to change course.
I bet the panel outline is exactly for that. They'd be fools to blindly wager on regulatory changes in 50 US states coming quick enough to let this stand completely. My bet is that there will be an accommodation for the US market and a little useless window will be placed there.

That's where the Zeekr is at, so that 0-60 time is pretty well baked at this point.

Not completely useless. Can put a rear dashcam there ;)

I hope some thoughts have been put in on the rear camera (washer etc) for winter usage if not this is a disaster in the making.

The most recent spy photos we got of the 4 were during winter testing - that inspires a fair amount of confidence on my end at least. Hell - the visibility in the 2 is absolutely criminal.

Is it me, or there was a glimpse of a rear window in the concept pictures, perhaps removed later on?
Video released today indicates that's a light bar. No sign of a "washer" on the high-set camera, plus not sure it would be needed? The only way it could get dirty is if the whole back of the car was covered in mud. And if you had a rear window, that would suffer the same fate? (yes yes windscreen wiper whatever)

My P2 is 3 years old in march 24 so I wonder what kind of trade in deal may be available as this does look a lovely car - can't tell if its a hatchback style as it would be great to be able to fold down rear seats...

Given the hubbub about the P4 width, I went and calculated deltas of Polestar height/width/length compared to other cars using the data on carsized.com

height length width (incl mirrors)
Polestar 4 1544 4839 2139

(# mm of {car} - Polestar 4)
Volvo S90 -101 +124 -120
BMW 5 series -65 +124 -13
Audi A6 -87 +94 -39
Volvo XC60 +154 -151 -22
BMW X6 +125 +96 +73
Audi Q5 coupe +116 -150 +1

tldr:
If you're comfortable going around a city in a BMW 5 series or certainly an X6 you should be comfortable going around in the P*4

I have a P2 2024 on order and I really wanted to like the P4, but it's just too big. The length and width means it won't fit in any of the parking spaces where I live
I doubt that. I drive a full-size Range Rover Autobiography and fit in any parking space, garage, car train, ferry, and so on. The P4 really isn't that special size wise. It will fit easily into any legal space. But fair enough, if you are talking about private land miniature spaces, then it could be true. The norm for the UK is 2.4m by 4.8m. 3.9cm overhang is nothing.

First part of this video compares the size between the 2 and 4.

No doubt it will fit in a UK public car parking space, but will you be able to comfortably get out? I previously had a F15 BMW X5 and found that a complete pain in the a4r3 to manoeuvre around many car parks, and consequently scraped my wheels a couple of times which is a horrible feeling. I’m pretty sure the X5 was smaller than your full fat Rangie, so kudos to you @Bl4ckD0g for not having problems or feeling anxious moving your RR around car parks.

There are so many things I’m liking about the 4 but I’m currently thinking the footprint is going to be a deal breaker for me 😢. When is the 2 going to be replaced with a like for like model? It was released in 2020 so perhaps 2026 for a new 2?? I’d love the styling, tech and cabin of the 4 in a 2 sized package. That would be just about perfect for me.

Yes it is a little bit bigger, also got 22" wheels on it. I find it actually easier than the Polestar 2 as you have more of a birds eye view. My wife prefer the Rangie as well for the same reason.

Same here. I was looking for the Polestar 4 very, very much, as a replacement for my 2016 V60 Cross Country. Maybe I could finally live with having no rear window (which I find stupid), and probably I could get around the fact that it is built in China. But the real deal breaker is its size. I don't want a car that is larger (and most of all, wider than my current car. A bit longer would be okay if that means more trunk space. But the Polestar 4 seems to be a lot longer than my V60 while having a significantly smaller trunk. There's just no benefit of the added length. And I'm really using my trunk space for my sports gear, can't go smaller!

If you ask me, the whole idea of the Polestar 4 is wrong for European customers. Polestar obviously put a lot of emphasis on rear seat space, as this is a big thing in China (where almost every sedan is sold in a longer version with more rear seat space). Next they moved the roof strength structure to the back to give rear seat passengers more headroom, which is kind of okay. But they could also have moved it behind the front seats, same solution as the Tesla Model 3 has. That would have meant a glass roof split in two halves, but who cares? A full-length glass roof is only a thing for rear seat passengers, so again, that's why Polestar went this way. As they went this way, the rear window became so tiny that they decided to remove it, and also the trunk became unpractical because that strength structure is in the way. This car is just totally the opposite of what I was looking for.

Because Europeans don’t ever have rear passengers?
