Just happened to me too. 2021 PPP CPO with a low VIN. 5,600mi. Had it for 4 months and nothing but minor issues. It was just updated from 2.13.1 to 2.14.4 (shop did a total upgrade) about a week ago.

Drove a gentle mile to store, parked, shopped, and came out to the error as soon as put into R. Shuddering from ~0-5mph (both in D and R), as if the park brake was chattering on/off, sending jolts through the backend. Then was turtle locked to ~22mph (it even braked down hill to not exceed.) Visually inspected but couldn’t see anything. Locked and walked away for some research. Came back 15 minutes later to no error and it drove fine. Hoping it’s just a transient case like some of you’ve had.

Update: Few days later, few drives later, issue hasn’t come back. Just a freak occurrence it seems.

Happened to me last night. car came to a complete dead stand after a 2 second warning to "slow down" - and then it just stopped - in a crosswalk in a busy intersection in a small town. On a busy Friday evening... sigh. Police were not happy and two truck took three hours to arrive. I have not had any problems with my car until now - but this one was scary. Car at 80% battery. Warnings were: "BatteryCritical Charging Fault" and "Propulsion System Failure." I could not move the car at all - it wouldn't switch gears so the tow truck driver dragged the hell out of it to get it on the flatbed (front wheels refused to move). I couldn't access the online car manual to read up on what it meant or how to get it in "tow mode" (wish I had read these posts earlier). My poor car's tires were probably trashed. He even had a problem with these orange wheel stoppers he put behind them - one got all caught up under the front of the car and he was hammering away to release it. Sigh. The only warning I had prior to the complete system failure was earlier in the day the car made a weird undercarriage feeling (can't explain it but I felt like I had run over something big and soft like a giant dog - and actually freaked out a bit and looked back to double check: nothing.) Polestar roadside service was pretty helpful last night. Not sure how long this will take - only one service center in Boston.
