I can't even try to setup PAK again. Whenever I go into the Privacy settings to enable them, it says I have no internet connection -- which I clearly do based on the icons, and the fact that my streaming services (and GPS) work fine.

Would it make sense to install a switch between the TCAM battery and module? If this issue is as persistent as it seems to be, it would save a lot of time in the future....would need to know the connector types though in order to build one.
The fact that this works as well as it does, you'd think PS would create a soft switch in one of the menus that severs and then reconnects the power. Clearly the current TCAM reset is not valuable.

I wonder, whether we could have a contest up here, for the TCAM reset participants ... at least to make a fun out of a nuisance .... 😂 .... post your attempt # and a time (video is a bonus). Not sure, what would be the appropriate winner prize though?
Definitely need to organise a contest at an owner's meetup - first one to remove the battery wins. Bonus points for not getting their hands full of scratches.
Then we can take the results sheet and send it in a nasty certified letter to Polestar. We could post it all over social media too....oh, hold it, we've already done that 😂

That’s not a bad idea … post on the Polestar official FB … “Challenge for Mr. Ingenlath … What is your best hard TCAM reset time?” … 😂 ….His reply: Sure, I am a game … but what exactly is a TCAM reset? … 🙄
You would think by now that a failure with this frequency across the fleet would have his attention.

Just saw someone posted this link on FB. Seems a class action lawsuit might be gathering steam 😯

It's really about time somebody take PS to task. Like @stevelup I've had my car 19 months without a blip (knock wood!), but the number of TCAM issues reported is simply unacceptable. They probably know more than we realize since they have a TCAM Reset feature built in. But of course we know that is woefully insufficient for the types of problems being reported. They need to figure out a permanent fix, and issue a recall.

I hope that people who are taking this into their own hands are continuing to flood PS Connect with complaints. Because if most people just take care of it themselves, then PS won't continue to get the scope of the problem. I think it's important to file a complaint insisting they fix it and not alert them that you fixed it until after they're ready to send somebody to look at it. Only then you can call off the service and tell them that you fixed it on your own waiting for them.

Spoke with CS this morning. They issued a technical bulletin yesterday to the service centers about the most current fixes for TCAM failures and they said that they are working on both an OTA fix and a physical repair that includes part replacements. Not much info, but thought I'd share it.
It would be great if they could do something OTA, but it really seems like a lot of people need a hardware replacement.

Thanks for the response and sorry for posting this in two places. I was looking for quick advice. I'll try the fix myself, but I do want to apply some pressure to them like JRRF said. I hate the idea of having it towed 1000 miles so they can disconnect/charge the TCAM battery!
Personally I would let them tow it away. They will leave you with another P2 loaner. Who knows, maybe in a couple of weeks they'll have to do it again. When they get tired of that they might come up with a permanent fix. And honestly we don't know what they will do when they get the car. They might have some other options that will make the fix more permanent. Who knows?

but I'm happy to know they will tow the car and provide a rental at no charge even though I'm 500 miles away.
This is what everyone needs to know. If Polestar stands behind you like this for a breakdown, that's what they promised on day 1. In the past they have trailered a P2 to you and basically trade cars with you. Early on our friend from Denver had his car trailered all the way to SF and they left him with a loaner P2.

I am just literally shocked that they are allowed to do this and sell the product in RHD countries. Boggles my mind …. But you did notice, how everyone here in LHD countries is fine with it, and understanding the Polestar’s short cutting and sloppiness, because it’s the accepted norm? …. 🙄
I don't see it as a shortcut or sloppiness. It's an emergency function that really shouldn't be necessary and so if you're in that bad of a spot it really shouldn't make any difference; the key blade could be in the back door. But to put that keyblade in more than one place would just be cost prohibitive. It may not seem like it, but the car could cost an extra $1,000 for doing that.

I know you don’t, but I bet that a) you would mind if you were driving on the other side than where the blade hole is … b) I also bet that 1000$ higher price is just about 10x more than a reality would be …. True, it’s a guess on my part, just as much as your 1000$ is a guess though … 🤷🏼‍♂️

At any rate, I maintain it is a sloppiness which I am surprised they (or any other OEM) are allowed to get away with.
It probably only costs $100 to actually make each car with two key holes, but that translates to about $1000 at MSRP. And it would be for every car, not just the UK. As for me? I could care less. I've never used an emergency entry option in over 40 years of driving. Which is precisely why manufacturers don't want their cars costing $1000 more or even $100 more.

After shredding most of the skin off my right arm, I DID finally manage to unclip the TCAM battery. The cord is locked up like Fort Knox with some clip that I can get released so I can get the damn thing to a place where I can release the wire harness and disconnect it.

how do I get that wire loose???
Isn't this kind of absurd?!? PS should be able to dispatch a tech within a day to complete this repair for anyone who needs it.
