Question: do any of you use AudioWagon successfully with a USB SD card reader? I got an error report where I suspect such a device as the culprit; also I have tried a couple of those readers myself now and none of them seem to work with the app...
Hi,
Yes, this is how I use it. I have a USB micro SD card reader with a micro SD card full of music of all types and it works perfectly.
Thanks again for an amazing app!

Hi
A question
when I get into the car and the car's central display turns on, the application automatically turns on and tells me if I want to continue or not. Although I mustache the square every time I get into the car it automatically appears as a banner.
It's normal ?
Thanks

If you're saying that it asks for access to the USB drive, then yes that is normal for now. I think it is a "feature" of the base AAOS 10 version we have currently. It's likely that 11 or 12 will cure this. My opinion of course.

This is a known issue in the FAQ on Moleman's Github where he hosts the project: Frequently Asked Questions
Hope this helps!

Could you share a link for the USB micro SD card reader you have please? I have plenty of USB-A uSD card readers, including a tiny one from SanDisk that is a little over 3cm long, but I haven't found anything similar for USB-C so far, they've all been cables with dongle types. Maybe my search terms were poor

Thanks

Hi there,

for the last months I have been trying to develop a USB media player that will work with a Polestar 2... and I succeeded .
I am planning on releasing this project as free and open source software soon but I wanted to ask for some help first. I am currently looking for:
  • beta testers (to find issues that I can fix before releasing)
  • native speakers to volunteer to translate the app (right now I only have it in English and German)
If you are interested in this project or want to contribute as beta tester or translate something, you can find more information here:
Audiowagon documentation

Thanks and best regards,
MoleMan
Hi MoleMan

I am gonna be picking up my Polestar 2 on Monday. Was very disappointed when I found out that the Polestar 2 does not play media files from USB media and I half though I would develop the feature myself. I am very interested in helping you test your app. If you still need help let me know.

Hi @MightyDread If you look through the thread, you'll see that it's now generally available - simply search for it within the car on the Play store and you can download and install it.

THIS is why you buy a car with a high end audio system. Not to play music over BT streaming, which is way compressed.
I was fairly unsatisfied with the audio until I got better quality audio on it. Upping Youtube Music to the high quality setting helped a lot, but using FLAC via external storage is the key. All of a sudden the stereo sounds pretty good.

Related but not to the P2? Where do most of you get your FLAC files from? I used to be on oink and what.cd, but since that last one closed I haven't found a good place.

My daughter (15) gets them from places like hardstyle.com soundcloud (mainly new undiscovered artists) beatport juno etc. And for samples for her own music also from splice.

I don't have many FLACs - mine came from the sound board of an Umphreys McGee concert I attended several years ago, downloaded from their web store. They do sound great via the USB port and AudioWagon in my PS2 (HK).

It’s a classic, and I wonder whether this is an issue for some. Good quality sound system reveal more, and can sound awesome. But, and this is really important, feed them shit input then you will hear all the shit and then some.

in a perverse way you don’t actually want a too good sound system in a vehicle aimed at consumer mass market.

It's weird and I never fully understood it, but shitty input on a good system always sounds worse than shitty input on a shitty system.

This thread got me at a bad moment, because it seems like quite a lot of music aimed at the mass market is tailored to shitty systems right from the mixing stage.

My granddaughter just finished listening to a horrible track that suffers from fake "My power supply is under-dimensioned" syndrome. The bass disappears at every drumbeat. It's like putting the listeners head in a pulsating decompression chamber where all the sound is sucked out at every beat. Drives me insane, but would probably sound perfect directly on a cellphone.
