I was told by P*Denver that it’s T-Mobile and has very bad conn. So you can change to att or verizon if you want. Though it will cost you. For me I have ATT in both my jags and they charged 600$ for 3 years for both cars
Please post the video. That sim card slot is not currently in use according to the people on this forum, and you have no ability to change the car's carrier. PS made a change in the US from ATT to T-Mobile some months ago and performance degraded. When they made that switch there was no sim card involved in the process. It was all internal to the car's sw.

I have seen this video too.

My Jaguar has 2 SIM's. An eSIM that is buried in the Head Unit and a physical (and conventional) SIM that fits in a slot in the central cubby hole beside 2 of the USB slots. The eSIM is for OTA updates and software monitoring and for the SOS and Emergency call services only. The second SIM, which the vehicle owner has to purchase and pay a subscription to, is for streaming, phone calls, live navigation and all the sort of stuff you would normally do from your phone. I use 3GB to 5GB per month on this SIM at a cost of +/-ÂŁ40.00 per annum. Does the P*2 have 2 SIMs?

Given that the P*2 is so internet centric do you think this is the direction that P* is heading in? As the vehicle gets more and more popular the internet cost to the manufacturer will mount and must become sub-economic at some point. In addition, by having a customer purchased SIM in the car the customer can purchase from the best provider for their area, reducing the possibility of black spots and poor connectivity locally.

Just thinking aloud really.

Does the P*2 have 2 SIMs or not?????

no clue! i cancelled my 2021 launch edition in august and got the 2022 model with heat pump since i live in colorado. my delivery is end of this month. I can check and let you know once i have my vehicle. but from the research i did. its only 1 SIM. Are you sure you jag has 2 SIMs? I think you are referring to the micro SD slot. I owned 3 jags so far from xf, xj and fpace, havent seen 2 SIMs

Absolutely certain that my MY19 Jaguar F-Pace has 2 SIMs as described in my post.

While this is drifting off topic, you won't physically see the eSIM. It is is the head unit and looks like a small IC board. You don't see the eSIM in an iPhone, but its there! If you don't believe you have 2 SIMs, try disconnecting any internet connection you have, remove the SIM you know you have and then press the SOS button. It will connect as usual. This is not by JLR magic! In addition you will never see any charges for internet usage following an OTR update. How do you imagine that's possible? Some of the updates that have been pushed through are large files. In addition, you will shortly be getting your map updates (from HERE in Netherlands) OTR as opposed to having to download to a memory stick and then upload to your vehicle. This will be a FoC service. Those files are around 35GB, this would exceed the allowance on most users SIM cards.

My question earlier, and yours as well, is does the P*2 have 2 SIM cards? Anyone know?

The sim slot in the P2 currently does nothing. All the connectivity comes with the car and is free to the owner for a period of time. For those of us with a MY21 I believe most of us have had that free period extended to 6 years. I think the 2nd sim slot is for making an in-car hotspot with your own carrier-provided sim, but that is conjecture at this point. Those of you here who are more knowledgeable than me feel free to chime in and correct anything I got wrong.

That's how I've always understood it too.

What they told me at the Polestar Space when I asked about what happens when the 3 year connectivity runs out, is that you'll have to provide your own internet by either turning your phone in a hotspot, or putting a sim card in the car.

That said, they also told me that the Launch Edition I'll be receiving soon would for sure have the heatpump even though I didn't see it mentioned under the plus pack and it for sure doesn't :)

Yeah, they don't always get things quite right in the Spaces... the Launch Edition definitely doesn't have a heat pump! I'm surprised there are any of these still making their way through to customers.

After the 3 years is up (doubled to 6 years for those who already have their car some weeks back as compensation for features still not being present), you can just pay a monthly instalment to continue using the car's SIM card, or use your phone as a WiFi hotspot. It might be that you could pop your own SIM card in the unused slot but I don't think that's all untangled yet.

First page updated for November/December 2021...
Awesome
maybe add the guide to the 12V disconnect

and the TCAM battery reset

?

Also, "ChargePoint" is misspelled currently in the guide

I just drove mine home an hour or two ago. I know I saw pictures/videos showing two cables one larger than the other, do the newest ones not come with two charging cables?

Oh and Hi. I'm feeling a bit feebish with this as a 1st post.

Hi @edbert - welcome! In the US we get one cable with two changeable plug ends. It's a short end of the cable that twists off. One of the ends is a 14-50 NEMA plug end and the other is a standard 110V 3 prong plug that will work with a standard outlet. You should have those in the frunk hopefully.

That is exactly what I have, thanks for the swift reply!

I might be the first to ask, but this sticky was titled as delivery check but top post did not mention the change.

Mine was delivered at 90% and within a few minutes my range (oh sorry again, perf and pilot only) was down to less than 150miles.

I've already got an electrician coming out to install a new circuit. Are there any write-ups on do's or don'ts?
