You mean to unhook the battery case from its mounting position? Put a screwdriver into the oblong hole in the chassis as per the pics above and lever the hook and it will drop.

If you mean how to grab the battery after that I did a video but can’t figure out how to post it here. I may post elsewhere and then post a link here.
I tried for 45 min and gave up because I had to go to work. I'll try again this weekend. I can't get the battery clip to release.

I just went through this today, but I ended up dropping one of my tools that I was using to release the battery down between the bodywork and the carpet (thankfully it wasn't the battery). I'm wondering if anyone knows where they might have ended up (I'm assuming under the trunk floor somewhere) and how to get to that area?

It’s very easy to remove the trunk floor carpet, there’s nothing holding it down so should be easy to reach and check it out.

Well my car from a brand that wants to compete with Porsche was able to give me 28 days of trouble free driving and it was very enjoyable. On day 29, the ecall service required notice and the sos light have arrived. I have LTE and GPS so far. It is hit or miss on being able to lock or unlock the car and it does not see the key unless I put it in the cup holder. Car can be driven. I will call Polestar support. I may try to reset this afternoon if I get time.

After over 2 years of ownership, I experienced the eCall/GPS/key access error for the first time a few days back. I found the video as posted in this thread, but since the local service center let me book an appointment the next day, I chose that. The luxury of having an effective service center in my smallish town! They know me well, as one of the first Polestar owners in the world, I have experienced a rather substantial amount of minor issues until about a year ago, when things stabilized for the better. Just not this one. They probably did what is described in this thread + small software update/rollback. Fixed and ready to drive in 30 minutes.

I later noticed that the app had completely stopped being able to communicate with the car. Nothing other than a factory reset of the car, and re-pairing of a freshly installed app was able to fix this.

Now almost everything is working again, except that the app's ability to get the car's position from the car, is 100% gone. GPS works fine while driving. I can live with that, but perhaps someone in this long thread of TCAM advice, has figured out a fix for this? I won't do another TCAM reset unless eCall/GPS fails again, since the factory reset is quite a bit of work. Or does the app usually start working again after the procedure described here?

I understand the propensity to wave Porsche around since PS has said as much. But read a Porsche forum and you'll see those cars are anything but trouble free. Now if PS was trying to emulate Honda that might be different 😂

I could not get the app connect to the car when I had TCAM issues and it came back after the reset without doing anything else.

So seems like TCAM issue is more of when this is going to happen rather than an if this is going to happen at this point.

Ha, yeah fair enough. My bad. I knew the potential for issues and kept my order. I will survive. Thankful for all the info on this forum. I may try the reset this afternoon

How often are y'all having to do the reset? I did it twice this weekend, and it only worked for a few hours before I lost connectivity again.
First time keys stopped working was about a year after I got mine, then it happened again roughly every 3-4 months. I’m overdue one!

So I've had the key /TCAM/ecall/SOS failure for the third time since Aug. Each time I have temporarily fixed it with this method. Last time I brought it in, they rolled back the TCAM software, but apparently that did not fix the issue. They said they will replace the TCAM this time. Does anyone know what is causing this issue and why the 12V/TCAM battery disconnect temporarily fixes the issue? Will a TCAM replacement permanently fix this?

If anyone really knew what the absolute resolution to this problem was, PS would also know and be permanently fixing all cars :(

thanks for this, really helpful. did mine today after soft-reset would not work. relocated the TCAM battery so I can just pull it down next time without removing the rear panel. used dual lock velcro style fastener to hold it on so it won't rattle free. I could see the techs had trouble when they did mine at the dealer earlier this year, didn't reseat the cable in front of the tcam battery. will keep the 10mm socket wrench, little screwdriver and piece of cardboard in the frunk for future use on the road if needed. should only take 10 mins total including putting everything back. user should not have to do this but it's better than ice breakdowns on the road that can't be fixed by a battery pull. hopefully polestar will continue to work on the problem.
